Jaime's Bio: Jaime Merritt (MT-BC) received her Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from
Michigan State University. She completed
her Music Therapy Internship at the Center for Discovery in Harris, NY. Her internship provided extensive training in creative /
improvisational music therapy techniques, and a humanistic approach to
therapy.
Jaime is nationally certified through the Certification Board for
Music Therapists. She is currently a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), Great
Lakes Region of Music Therapists (GLR), and Michigan Music Therapists (MMT).
Jaime has held music therapy positions with Creative Arts Therapies Inc., working in the Monroe County Intermediate School District and the Penrickton Center for Blind Children. She is also employeed with Michigan State University Community Music School, providing music therapy services. For the past 5 years and counting, Jaime also has helped to organize, run, and provide group music therapy experiences for the Eric 'RicStar' Winter Music Therapy Camp in East Lansing, MI. Her other experience includes working as a music therapist for 2 years at the Williams Syndrome Music Camp for children at the Indian Trails camp in Grand Rapids, MI.
